Day 1: Europe / Bombay
Leave for Mumbai. Arrive Mumbai in the night. Transfer to hotel and overnight.
Day 2: Bombay
Morning take a ferry to explore Elephanta Caves, carved between 450 and 750 A.D. Return to hotel. Afternoon city tour of Mumbai -. The Gateway of India, The Hanging gardens, Prince of Wales Museum and the Gandhi Museum. Time free for shopping. Overnight.
Day 1: Bombay / Bhavnagar (Flt)
Morning fly to Bhavnagar. Arrive and leave for excursion to Palitana. Visit the temples atop a hill. The 600m ascent from the base of the hill has more than 3000 steps. Over a period of 900 years, 863 temples have been built here. All temples are Jain and this hill is one of Jainism's holiest pilgrimage places. Return to Bhavnagar. Overnight.
Day 2: Bhavnagar / Alang / Diu
Morning, leave for Diu - a Portugese Colony until 1961. Enroute stop at Alang the ship-breaking yard which is a fantastic spectacle in itself. Large ships from America, Europe, Asia are brought here are reduced to scrap by 20,000 workers toiling day and night. Continue towards Diu. Arrive and check in at hotel. Diu's crowning glory is the massive fort which was completed in 1541 by the Portugese. Rest of the time free to relax on the beach or explore the island. Overnight.
Day 3: Diu / Somnath / Sasangir
Morning leave for Sasangir. Enroute visit the temple of Somnath one of the most sacred Shiva shrines in India. In the past it was famous for its fabulous wealth. This prompted the muslim invaders to raid this temple and loot its wealth for centuries. Continue towards Sasangir - the home of the Asiatic lion. Arrive and check in at hotel. The sanctuary covers 1400 sq km and apart from lions, there are over 30 species of other mammals, including bears, hyenas, foxes and a number of species of deer and antelope. Overnight.
Day 4: Sasangir
Morning & afternoon, game viewing in the Sasangir National Park. Overnight.
Day 5: Sasangir / Junagarh / Porbandar
Morning leave for Junagarh - a town situated right at the base of the temple studded Girnar Hill. It is a 600m climb up 10,000 stone steps to reach the summit of the Girnar Hill. This temple is of great significance to the Jains. Continue towards Porbandar famous as the birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi. Arrive and check in at hotel. Afternoon visit of Kirti Mandir, which was built in 1950 as a memorial for Gandhi. Visit the house of Gandhi going back to 300 years. A swatiska marks the exact spot where the great man was born. Then visit the Planetarium of Nehru and the Bharat Mandir. Returnto hotel and overnight.
Day 6: Porbandar / Dwarika / Jamnagar
Morning leave for Dwarika one of the most holy Hindu pilgrimage sites. Visit the temple of Dwaraknath dedicated to Krishna God. The temple is open only to Hindus, but the exterior, with its tall five storey spire supported by 60 columns is far more interesting that the interior. Archeological excavations have revealed five earlier cities at the site, all now submerged. Continue towards Jamnagar also known as the 'Jewel of Kathiawad'. Arrive and transfer to hotel. Overnight.
Day 7: Jamnagar
Day 8: Jamnagar / Wankaner / Ahmedabad
Morning leave for Wankaner. The Royal Palace at Wankaner has been converted into a hotel and is an exotic holiday resort.Rest of the day free to explore the area in and around the palace
Day 9: Ahmedabad
Day 10: Ahmedabad / Gandhinagar / Modhera / Patan
Day 11: Patan / Bhuj
Morning leave for Bhuj known as the gateway to the Kutch. Arrive and check in at hotel. Bhuj is an old walled city with maze like streets and crenellated gateways. Afternoon, visit the Museum, known as Fergusson Museum one of the best museums in India. Later visit Rao
Pragmalji's Palace, constructed in the later part of 19th century of marble and sandstone is imposing and ornate. Return to hotel and overnight.
Day 12: Bhuj
Day return excursion to the Little Rann of Kutch which is home to the last remaining population of Khur (Asiatic Wild Ass) in India. Return to Bhuj and overnight
Day 13: Bhuj / Bombay (Flt)
Morning visit to the villages of Kutch region where every village specialize in different forms of handicraft. The crafts they specialize are mostly wool and cotton weaving, Ahir embroidery, block printing & tie-dying. Later in the afternoon transfer to airport to board on the flight for Mumbai. Arrive and transfer to hotel. Overnight.
Day 14: Bombay / Europe
Morning breakfast. Leave for airport to connect flight for Europe.
